Streatley Warren: Commission
Walk 6: Streatley Warren. June. Berkshire.
Walking Diary: I enjoy a pleasant walk across open farm land and then a striking view opens up to my right called Streatley Warren. I am drawn to the gentle sweeps of the field, the large copse of trees in the centre and the old chalk downland curving around the edge. This is a site of Special Scientific Interest. It's a dry chalk valley situated in an area that has been converted to arable farming. More than half the site consists of flower-rich chalk grassland which has been maintained by grazing.
