Walk 11: Fugsdon Wood. November. Buckinghamshire.

Walking Diary: At Lower Cadsden, The Ridgeway cuts through the back of some cottages and then opens up at the base of of Pulpit Hill which is an Iron Age Hill Fort. Chequers (the official Prime Ministers country residence) comes into view with Combe Hill Monument in the distance. There is a meandering and steady climb as I walk into Fugsdon Wood. The sun is shining through the canopy of trees with long shadows stretching before me. The floor of the wood is covered in rusty leaves.
