Whiteleaf Cross

Walk 10: Whiteleaf Cross. October. Buckinghamshire.

Whiteleaf Cross

Walking Diary: As I descend downhill I see the town of Princes Risborough. I cross the rail track and a golf course before meeting the busy A4010 road. I followed this fast road to the outskirts of town and turn right away from the main road. The track is also part of the Icknield Way. Lots of red kites could be seen in the sky above me and the same time the weather has improved considerably with the skies clearing. As Whiteleaf cross came into view I started a step climb up the hill here but not before I have had time to enjoy the autumnal colours. Whiteleaf Cross is a cross-shaped chalk hill carving, with a triangular base, The date and origin of the cross are unknown.
