Sausage Valley

Sauage Valley

Sausage Valley was a battlefield named by the British troops in 1916. It's a gentle hollow of downland just south of La Boisselle in Northen France. The name could have come from the German observation balloons (sausage shapes) that were flown at the front line. This is the landscape as it is 100 years on.
