The Industrial Henge: SOLD

Industrial Henge

Didcot Power Station as seen from the downs above Upton Village in South Oxfordshire. This industrial landscape is almost the same age as me. Built in 1970 and decommissioned this year (22nd March 2013) it is due to be demolished and marks the end of an era for many local residents who have grown up with this famous landmark. Love it or hate it, the power station has become an iconic building in this part of Southern England. It’s even said that Henry Moore consulted on its original layout and design. For me it will always be my ‘Cloud Making Machine’ and I’ll be very sad to see it go.
